  • A solution that integrates EDI to trade partners

One of the world’s leading food, chocolate and pet care manufacturing companies with more than 65,000 employees in over 70 countries worldwide. Integration of EDI to trade partners for Czech/Slovak, Hungary, and South Central Europe business units with the deployment of the client’s global SAP platform.

    Case study

With growing demand from partners for EDI communication in these markets and an already existing scope of partners integrated with the legacy system it was apparent that this was a critical part of the project.  BPX provided the solution for a fully integrated order to cash flow with EDI partners enabling improved efficiency and transparency in customer sales and service. Legal requirements along the number of partners and the different requirements of the client’s EDI partners, posed a challenge.

    Solution to the problem

The scope of 30 EDI partners and total of 50 interfaces were integrated taking into account different requirements of each partner.  Additional logic in the consolidation of mappings was essential to reducing costs associated with the client’s EDI provider, while providing a flexible solution with sustainability for future partner requirements.

    The obtained benefit

With the joint effort of the business and implementation team the project successfully went live in January 2011 as indicated by KPI’s.  BPX implemented a fully integrated solution with EDI partners enabling improved efficiency in customer service by streamlining the client’s order to cash flow.  The new solution made communication with partners faster and more effective by subsequently eliminating manual workflow and chance for mistakes associated with this.  The key success lies in excellent communication from all teams throughout every phase of the project.
